Entertainment involving animals includes public exhibitions, television and film appearances, horse riding and animal racing, as well as crush videos, hunting, rodeos, cockfighting and dogfighting. All of these activities entertain some segment of society. The session will discuss a range of practices and potential and actual legal challenges to a variety of forms of entertainment -- and probe why Americans deem some forms of animal entertainment acceptable and valuable, and others criminal and tragic. This course was originally presented at PBI’s 7th Annual Animal Law Conference. Other courses from the Animal Law Conference are available at PBI’s online campus.
