All of the credits offered by this course count toward the CLE requirements of Criminal Procedure Rule 801, for appointment as defense counsel in a capital case.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the CLE Board indicates that you can earn all 18 of your capital case credits by distance education. However, for the general Pennsylvania CLE requirement of 12 credits per compliance year, only 4 can be earned by distance education each year. This means that while this course offers more than four capital case credits, at most only 4 credits will count toward your general CLE requirement. (It could be fewer than 4 if you take other distance education courses in the same compliance year.)
Take an in depth look at the new standard PA criminal jury instructions with a focus on those instructions applicable to death penalty cases. Listen as the speakers compare the new instructions to the old instructions, discuss the pros and cons of the new instructions and offer great practical tips. This course was originally presented as part of the Capital Case Track at the 23rd Annual Criminal Law Symposium in June 2006. Other courses offered during the Symposium are also available on PBI’s Online Campus.
