According to the Federal Trade Commission, as many as nine million Americans have their identities stolen per year.  Individuals and companies (including law firms), are at risk of suffering from data breaches and identity theft.  This course is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in the basics of the law surrounding identity fraud, identity theft, data breaches and related topics.  You’ll pick up lots of practical tips on how to protect personal information and what to do if security has been compromised.  And, you’ll have the unique opportunity to develop a well-rounded view of the issues and players in this field by hearing from private practitioners, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and law enforcement agents.  Given the prevalence of falling victim to identity theft, this is a program you literally cannot afford to miss.

Recorded during a live webcast in September 2011.
