Our instructors focus on two areas of interest to pro bono attorneys, particularly those interested in the rights of children and juveniles. First, Mary Pugh, Esq., the Director of the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project, discusses the efforts of her organization to provide free legal representation and social services to abused and neglected children in Montgomery County. Next, Gregory Volz, Esq., a pioneer in designing and implementing student-run youth courts, talks about these innovative alternative disciplinary systems, which use the power of peer pressure within a court setting to help student offenders reform their behavior.

This course was recorded in March 2011 at the Pennsylvania Bar Association`s Pro Bono Seminar, "Reaching Out to the Neediest Among Us," a statewide conference aimed at educating attorneys on ways to answer the call to public service. Additional sessions from this day-long seminar are available at PBI`s Online Campus.
