PBI is pleased to present David Margulies, a nationally recognized litigation public relations expert. He has advised clients including Oprah Winfrey and has managed worldwide media coverage in litigation involving his client and the late Anna Nicole Smith. In addition, David has worked with law firms throughout the United States on a wide range of issues including: antitrust, bankruptcy, civil rights, employment, environment, intellectual property, libel, medical malpractice, open records, premises liability, probate, sexual harassment, zoning and land use.  Daniel Siegel, an attorney and computer consultant joins David to discuss the new PBA Ethics decision on metadata and its impact on litigation and public relations.

David joins us to discuss how to properly handle media relations in the Internet age. He will cover the following issues during this one hour course, recorded during a live Tele-Web Seminar in March 2010.

  • Studies show the Internet has dramatically changed the way litigation issues can reach the news media and public.
  • Dealing effectively with the news media in print, broadcast and on the Internet within profession’s ethical guidelines.
  • How to determine whether specific litigation is likely to generate media interest or go viral on the Internet.
  • Dealing effectively with web sites under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Defending against the use of media pressure to influence the outcome of litigation within professional ethics standards
  • Creating a strategy for dealing effectively with media interview requests concerning litigation within professional ethics standards
