Regulation of lobbyists in Pennsylvania has been a hot topic since the Pennsylvania Supreme Court struck down the state`s former lobbying disclosure law in Gmerek v. State Ethics Commission, 569 Pa. 579, 807 A.2d 812 (Pa. 2002). In this seminar, Richard Gmerek takes a closer look at Pennsylvania`s new Lobbying Disclosure Act, which became effective January 1, 2007. Learn about the key provisions of the Act, and the interplay between those provisions and the Rules of Professional Conduct. Does the Act solve the ethical dilemmas that it sought to cure? Or does it raise more questions than it answers? Also hear about the efforts of the Lobbying Disclosure Regulations Committee to promulgate regulations under this important new law.
