NOTE: This course is not eligible for CLE credit because it is less than 60 minutes long. We offer it at no charge, as a public service to those who need the information.

In this ethics session Richard Gmerek, Esq., a renowned lawyer and lobbyist, explores Pennsylvania’s new lobbying disclosure law and how it may conflict with the Rules of Professional Conduct in certain areas. Recent fines and opinions are also considered. Next, Eric Fillman, Esq., Deputy Chief Counsel to the Democratic Caucus of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, discusses ethics in the legislative process and the bipartisan training and educational programs that have been implemented in the Pennsylvania General Assembly in response to “Bonusgate” and other scandals.

This course was recorded in October 2011 at PBI’s day-long program, Legislative Process, Statutory Drafting, Regulatory Process & Update. Other sessions from this course are available at PBI’s Online Campus.
