Item Description Back to top
Now that ICANN has finally approved the new generic Top-Level Domain program, the domain name system as we know it may have a very different look in the near future. Will .brand, .cars, .banks or .movies be the future of the Internet? How will cybersquatting issues be handled? While there are still more questions to be answered about how the new process will play out and be implemented, the basic system is in place and the process is scheduled to move forward in early 2012. Get a general overview of the process as it stands now, and learn what it may mean to clients both big and small. Most importantly, learn about the brand protection mechanisms for trademark owners.

This course was recorded in November 2011 at PBI's 17th Annual Business Lawyers' Institute. Other sessions from this popular two-day program are available at PBI's Online Campus.
