Join Verne Smith, Chair of the Animal Law Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, as he discusses the rise of factory farming in the United States in the past 50 years and explains how the most common methods of confinement of farm animals are not only inhumane but could have adverse effects on human health and the environment. Learn how the laws at the state and federal level have largely ignored the regulation of the housing, treatment and slaughtering of farmed animals.
