Many couples live together without obtaining formal legal recognition of their relationship. Not all of these couples have documents prepared beforehand to protect their rights in the event of the termination of the relationship or the death of one partner. However, when those relationships end, legal issues still arise. How can they divide their real and personal property? How do you enforce an agreement between the parties? What if they are raising children together? Does Pennsylvania’s new custody law have any impact? Come and find the answers to these and other questions that affect opposite sex and same sex couples alike. Our instructors cover the following specific topics:
Common Law Marriage and Internet Ministers (50 min.)
Dissolution of Domestic Partnerships and Civil Unions (60 min.)
Enforcement of Cohabitation Agreements (30 min.)
Real Estate and Partition Issues (45 min.)
Child Support and Custody Issues (45 min.)
