Item Description Back to top
You encounter it at almost every social gathering, someone looking for quick legal advice. How you protect yourself while still keeping the relationship friendly is an important skill to develop. Giving legal advice at cocktail parties and other social gatherings raises many questions, and can result in some serious ethical predicaments.
  • How should you handle the situation?
  • Are there any ethical issues you need to be aware of?
  • Should you give legal advice in a social setting?
  • Do you have all the facts?
  • Am I setting myself up for malpractice?
In this new program, our panelists answer these questions and offer practical advice for handling questions you`re likely to hear at a cocktail party in such areas as family law, criminal law, civil litigation, business law, and trusts and estates law.
