Experienced intellectual property lawyers examine false advertising claims in the context of the Internet, including some new forms of false advertising made possible by electronic media, and how courts are applying traditional Lanham Act analysis to e-commerce and the virtual realm. Topics include the rampant growth in, and dangers presented by, "affiliate marketing;" new endorsement guidelines issued by the FTC; keyword advertising; and false advertising issues in social media. Important policy issues are also addressed.
This course was recorded in April 2010 at PBI`s 4th Annual Intellectual Property Law Institute. Other sessions from the IP Institute are available on PBI`s Online Campus.
