When a lawyer sits on a nonprofit board, the potential for conflict is ever-present. Much depends on the capacity in which the lawyer serves, whether professional advice is provided, if the lawyer is compensated and to what extent the expectations of the organization may conflict with those of the lawyer. Although there are no simple answers, this seminar offers valuable tips and guidelines for the lawyer who serves on a nonprofit board of directors.
Recorded May 2005 at PBI's annual Nonprofit Institute.
