Aircraft operate in a world governed by federal interests, statutes and regulations, and international treaties as well as private contracts with the traveling public. The small legal bar and highly regulated environment creates insurance issues unique to aviation. In this survey of aviation insurance issues, learn about the impact of statutes of repose for manufacturers on downstream insurance considerations, as well as various insurance coverage issues, including the causal connection requirement for exclusions, lienholder endorsements, rental pilot coverage, and subrogation, among other things.
