These days when you turn on the television or pick up a newspaper it is not uncommon to find someone talking or writing about the current "gold rush" in Pennsylvania. The discovery of obtainable gas in the Marcellus Shale has had a huge impact from West Virginia through New York, and numerous Pennsylvania land owners have been affected.

This course was recorded during a live webcast in August 2008 in which two attorneys who have handled numerous leases join an expert from Penn State, an attorney from DEP and those representing the interests of gas companies to discuss Gas Leases with a focus on the Marcellus Shale. The faculty will give you a general background on the Marcellus Shale so you can understand what the "gold rush"is all about. Then you will hear from a gas company and find out from their perspective the legal issues involved with gas leases. Next you will discover exactly what to put in a gas lease, what is negotiable and what addendums you want to be sure to include. Finally you will learn about the issues that can occur after a gas lease is signed, from estate planning to conveyancing, taxes to divorce, there are numerous issues that can arise when a gas lease is part of a client's assets.

Don't miss this exciting new program on one of the hottest issues in Pennsylvania right now.
