All of the credits offered by this course count toward the CLE requirements of Criminal Procedure Rule 801, for appointment as defense counsel in a capital case.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
the CLE Board indicates that you can earn all 18 of your capital case credits by distance education. However, for the general Pennsylvania CLE requirement of 12 credits per compliance year, only 4 can be earned by distance education each year. This means that while this course offers more than four capital case credits, at most only 4 credits will count toward your general CLE requirement. (It could be fewer than 4 if you take other distance education courses in the same compliance year.)
Learn the basics behind the science of DNA - what kinds of tests are available, what will those tests tell you, how do you present this technical information to the jury and more. Gain an inside view of the PSP laboratory system, their qualifications, and how evidence is tested. This course was originally presented at PBI`s 24th Annual Criminal Law Symposium in June 2007. Other courses from the Symposium are available for purchase at PBI`s online CLE.
