A faculty of experienced prosecutors, defense attorneys and a trial court judge will teach you the fundamentals of suppression motions. They will take you through the process of identifying suppression issues, drafting and responding to the motion, as well as litigating the motion at a suppression hearing.
Refine your skills for successfully identifying suppression issues while you stay current with the latest case law
You will review the exclusionary rule and its many facets pertaining to physical evidence, procedure, substance and execution of search warrants, confidential informants and warrantless searches. You will also hear about suppressing statements and confessions, and eyewitness identification.
Hear practice pointers and pitfalls for drafting, litigating and responding to suppression motions
Explore the fundamentals of drafting a suppression motion from the facts and standing to arguments and exhibits. The faculty will then provide you with views of a suppression hearing from both sides of the fence. The program will conclude with a discussion of the possible outcomes of the hearing and appellate procedure for suppression issues.
