What is your definition of “professional”? Has the meaning related to court reporting changed over the years? In today’s highly competitive marketplace and with alternative technology making inroads into our profession, it’s not enough to just show up for the job. This session will encompass the essential components of reporter professionalism, such as knowledge, skill development, dress and demeanor, technology, industry awareness, membership, certification, continuing education, and giving back to the profession; and define and clarify reporting as a job versus reporting as a career and how the job-holders versus the career-minded are faring.
