This program was offered live on February 15, 2008 at the Midyear Meeting.

Many companies use equity awards as incentives to bond their employees; as a surrogate when cash is required for working capital or growth; and as a way of spreading wealth amongst family members who don’t directly participate in the business. Using equity for these purposes can have significant legal, tax and business implications that should be taken into account in reaching that decision. An interdisciplinary panel of lawyers, accountants and businesspeople discuss some of these basic considerations.
