Introduces Free Email Distribution List (ListServ)
Functionality
If you are using Yahoo Groups or other free email
distribution list software for your section or other
email discussion lists, you may have recently noticed
the addition of context sensitive ads. Just like search
engine ads, the email discussion software/website looks
at keywords in the discussion and places ads into the
body of the email prior to sending the posting to the
people on the list.
The result of this advertising vehicle is that the
lawyers who participate in your email lists are likely
getting advertisements for books, online CLE and other
offerings from your competitors! Many of these ads are
very subtle and may not even look like ads which

email distribution list is built on LSoft's ListServ
which is the grandfather of all ListServs (they actually
coined the term ListServ) and will work much like Yahoo
Groups or the other free email distribution lists - but
without the ads!
For any of you who ultimately migrate to the BarAlliance

integrated into the BarAlliance site.
