In December 2002, the LAD board of directors adopted a six-hour minimum continuing legal education requirement for Active and Associate members of the Division.  "We believe that this is a move that maintains the Division's position as a leader in professional paralegal organizations nationwide," LAD President Kim J. Cantu, CLA, stated. "By establishing this standard for continuing education, and by offering online CLE, our members will be better prepared to assist both the attorneys, for whom we work, and the public, for whom we provide valuable services."

LAD offers several dozen courses in many areas of the law, including corporate, civil litigation, intellectual property, family law, estate planning & probate, and real estate law.  The courses include paralegal-specific CLE as well as CLE originally presented to attorneys.
