The Montana Bar has partnered with LegalSpan to offer online continuing legal education to the geographically dispersed Montana bar members. This solution is perfect for a state such as Montana that has a little over 3000 active attorneys.

“We knew we wanted to get involved in online seminars but being a small bar with limited resources we needed to do it with minimal expenditure, manpower and ongoing resources. Yet, we still wanted to provide high quality meaningful seminars for our members.

“We selected LegalSpan because of their flexibility and versatility. We see one of the greatest benefits is being able to offer our attorneys the ability to participate in many more programs than we could ever offer them in-state. Also, we can easily use the LegalSpan system to sell our other wares: books, live events, and publications, in addition to the online seminars, creating an integrated catalog.

“Also, our Supreme Court effective January 1, 2000 ordered all criminal defense prior to appointment  in capital crimes cases to have at least 12 credit hours dealing with subjects related to the defense of persons accused or convicted of capital crimes.  Rather than copying and sending videotapes and pages and pages of materials, this solution is much more cost effective and convenient for everyone.”
