This seminar provides an exclusive opportunity for those in the legal profession, to analyze and explore the role of Ethics in the business of sports. The high pressure and intense expectations of success influence decision makers in all areas of elite sport, college or professional. These pressures continue to produce numerous cases and situations that can be criticized from both an ethical and legal standpoint. Political dynamics and economic pressures within the collegiate and professional sport arenas, continually question the interpretation of specific legislation and the ethical fabric of its intent.
The purpose of this seminar is to provide an overview of salient legal and ethical issues facing attorneys in the area of sports and entertainment law. Attorney Klark Jay Perez, practicing attorney for twenty years, hosts Dr. G. Lynn Lashbrook, who offers a unique perspective on sports. Dr. Lashbrook has amassed over thirty years experience in sports administration, management and teaching, as a collegiate athlete, collegiate coach, Academic Advisor, Athletic Director, NFL Agent, and adjunct professor. He currently teaches sport management, both domestically and internationally, and is the President and Founder of an international sports management company. During this seminar, Dr. Lashbrook will reflect upon his vast experiences, highlighting ethical issues facing the legal professional with an interest in the business of sports.

About the Speakers:
Dr. G. Lynn Lashbrook, President and Founder of Sport-Management.com, a full service sports agency that also trains future agents with an online course, feels that attorneys would make outstanding Personal Advisors considering they already have the legal foundation. Our company's goal is increase the number of agents who understand the ethical foundation necessary to be successful, and this hopefully should translate into fewer clients per agent. The sports agent industry needs a fresh approach in dealing with the many ethical issues facing the athlete on and off the field. All of our Personal Advisors have a full time career while representing a few clients. It is my view after many years in the business, an Agent needs to be more than just a Contract Advisor.
Klark J. Perez, is admitted to practice law in both Florida and California and has been a trial attorney for over seventeen years. As an Assistant Public Defender of the Ninth Judicial Circuit and in his private practice, he has handled hundreds of cases and represented clients in criminal, personal injury litigation and entertainment law. He holds a Master in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California film school, Peter Stark Producers Program and has published articles including for the Florida Bar's Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law section of the Florida Bar. Mr. Perez taught for several years at the University of Central Florida film school, sharing his knowledge and experience. He has been both sponsor and advisor of various organizations including Women in Film Central Florida Chapter and continues to donate time to numerous film organizations and production companies.
