NEIL SQUILLANTE
[9:38 p.m.] Good heavens, it's time for award number 7 -- Favorite Online CLE Provider. Remember when you finished the bar exam and you exclaimed that never again would you have to sit through a boring lecture in a classroom setting. And remember how, a few months later, you learned about CLE requirements. Ouch! Well, that was then and this is now. Though you still have to sit through boring lectures to fulfill your CLE requirements, you can now do it from the comfort of your own office or home office. Online CLE seminars have become more popular over the past year thanks to the fact that broadband -- in the form of cable, DSL, and good old T1 -- has become rife in law offices and is well on its way to becoming just as ubiquitous in home offices. Online CLE is a painfully slow experience with dial-up access, but it rocks with broadband access. AOL Time Warner may have big plans for entertaining us via streaming media in the coming years, but the future has already arrived for many lawyers with regard to CLE.

NETSQUIRE
[9:39 p.m.] As an expert in just about everything, I expect to teach many online CLE courses in the future. I can already picture the klieg lights playing havoc with migratory birds, the marquee bearing my name, the adoring fans trying to touch me if only for an nstant, the police barricades that say "Do Not Cross" but might just as well say "We're Not Worthy," the ...

[9:39 p.m.] Netsquire, have you lost your CPU? Since when do online seminars take place in the physical world?

NETSQUIRE
[9:39 p.m.] Actually, that's what the Internet looks like to me -- e-mail messages take the form of people, Web banners look like marquees, and so forth. Virtual to you; real to me.

WELLS ANDERSON
[9:39 p.m.] [Laughs.]

[9:40 p.m.] It is my great pleasure to announce that the TechnoLawyer @ Award for Online CLE Provider goes to -- LEGALSPAN!

JOHN DAVIS
[9:40 p.m.] Good evening. My name is John Davis and I am the President of LegalSpan. I am pleased to accept this award on behalf of the developers of @ttend software and the staff at LegalSpan. 1999 was a banner year for us and receiving this award solidifies our belief that CLE online is a viable and emerging technology solution.

[9:40 p.m.] With the release of @ttend version 2.0, our clients can now take advantage of viewing CLE courses online at their convenience as well as receive Realtime deposition video, audio and text over the internet. Our recent agreements with several Statewide Bar Associations and the National Court Reporting Association to provide Online Continuing Education to their members is a indication that the community is beginning to embrace and utilize this technology.

[9:41 p.m.] I want to thank everyone in The TechnoLawyer Community, our Global Network of Channel Affiliates and all of our customers who took the time to vote and selected us to receive this honor. 2000 promises to be a truly exciting year for legal technology and LegalSpan is thrilled to be a part of it. Thank you.

BILL BRADLEY
[9:41 p.m.] Nice going LegalSpan!
