Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Credit
NC State Bar MCLE rules require attorneys to complete twelve (12) hours of MCLE per credit year. To satisfy this requirement, you may take up to four (4) hours of computer-based training per credit year.
This means up to four hours of Online CLE or Podcasts, or a combination of both, not to exceed four hours credit annually. You may apply up to four (4) credit hours of computer-based training to a CLE deficit from a preceding calendar year. You may carry over to the next calendar year no more than four (4) credit hours of computer-based CLE.
Live CLE Webcasts and Webinars do not count against the four-hour limit for computer-based training. All twelve (12) NC MCLE credits may be satisfied online with live CLE Webcasts and up to four (4) credits of both Online CLE and/or Podcasts. We report your CLE credit to the NC State Bar.
Become a Passport UserUse a NCBA Virtual or a Hybrid Passport to minimize your yearly costs of online CLE with one low annual enrollment fee while maximizing your learning opportunities.
A Virtual Passport will allow you to satisfy all of your CLE requirements online; a Hybrid Passport will allow you to do the same but also gives you the option to attend some live programing.
For details about these Passport options, please see: www.ncbar.org/cle/passport.aspx
