Summary:

Noncompetition Agreements, also called “noncompete clauses” and “covenants not to compete” are contract clauses utilized to prevent an employee (or former business owner) from leaving employment and going into competition with an Employer.  They generally purport to restrict the future employment of the former employee for a length of time in a particular territory or region.  This program reviews the basics of non-compete clauses, covers some of the peculiarities that distinguish non-competes from other areas of contract law, and explores recent trends and developments in the case law.
