 | "This was an excellent presentation of how electronic and DNA evidence can completely exonerate people who are wrongly accused of a crime. The cell phone records, digital pictures with metadata. ATM cameras, secured dorm card readers, credit card receipts, etc. completely destroyed the prosecution`s case. Fascinating!" (Charlotte, NC) |
 | "Great course and program." (Research Triangle Park, NC) |

 | "Fascinating presentation. It was not in my area of practice, but if ethics credits are needed, this is well worth the time. Clear details of many facts that did not come out in the media." (Raleigh, NC) |

 | "While the subject does not relate to my practice, this was very interesting and kept me glued to the monitor. Mr. Cooney is a fantastic speaker. The only complaint I have is that the streaming paused several times during the last half hour, which made listening hard." (Durham, NC) |
 | "This is the best CLE course I have ever participated in." (Washington, DC) |

 | "Hard to read attachments, but the speaker was so good it didn't really harm the presentation." (Greensboro, NC) |
 | "Good Program." (Charlotte, NC) |
 | "Like so many people in North Carolina, I followed the Duke Lacrosse case with great interest and the subsequent ethical issues following the attorney general`s declaration of innocence of the young men who were charged was equally fascinating. This seminar did a credible job of laying out an overview of the factors at play in this complex case and I feel that my time has been well spent. The only critique that I have has to do with the slides. Although I selected synchronized, there were times when multiple slides seemed to become glued together and I could not view any one slide clearly." (Raleigh, NC) |
 | "Not really related to my area of practice but very informative and interesting." (Charlotte, NC) |
 | "The speaker`s slides were not viewable (fuzzy, etc.), and for this program, this was quite important (e.g., a timeline)." (Houston, TX) |
 | "Good to hear a defense lawyer`s perspective. The entire experience of finding the course, purchasing it, and being able to view at my convenience made it so easy to get that last 1 hr of CLE. It saved me 5 hours of driving time to Raleigh scheduled for tomorrow.
Note on subject matter: I find it discouraging to hear this AG`s office praised so highly in this matter in light of the AG`s having handled the original Gell/Gale? case in such a poor, cavalier manner. Their behavior had truly devastating consequences, and the Bar fell far short in prosecuting those lawyers. Nifong`s behavior was different in that it was intentional, but no prosecutor should be able to "get away with murder" because they didn`t read all the evidence or understand their obligations under Brady, etc." (Whiteville, NC) |
 | "Thanks for making this resource available. Sincerely, Roy G. Pettigrew" (Raleigh, NC) |
 | "I kept waiting for the discussion of the ethical implications -- and the speaker never really delivered. I took this course to get ethics credit hours, but there was no discussion of attorney ethics, the focus was more on the moral implications or how "the system" almost went drastically wrong.
I think a more careful analysis of what caused the DA to lose sight of his professional responsibility and a discussion of the ethical implications for defense lawyers would have taken the course to a higher learning level. BUt I doubt that such an analysis could be provided by attorneys so closely connected to the case." (Durham, NC) |
