"Very good speaker, presented materials well, 1st ethics/substance program which actually was coherent and thorough while entertaining" (Nashville, NC)
"Very good content ... I think this program was very good at explaining, on a scientific basis, why addiction is not just a `lack of will power`." (Research Triangle Park, NC)
"Outstanding briefing that was one of the few truly inductive presentations I have attended on substance abuse. Normally, these tend to be assertive cautionary warnings. This was more in the nature of a clinical experience with a heavy dose of medical school analysis to support his principled positions. Well worth the time to view ..." (Lexington Park, MD)
"This doctor was the best speak I have ever heard on substance abuse." (Charlotte, NC)
"Very good speaker, information was presented well and was understandable." (Claremont, NC)
"Great seminar. Not sure it will help my real estate practive much, but sure makes me understand my family a little better. Great speaker!" (Raleigh, NC)
"wonderful speaker!" (Raleigh, NC)
"This was the best CLE I have ever watched on addiction. Every attorney and mental health provider should see this." (Conetoe, NC)
"I have taken cyberCLE courses for six years. This is the best cyberCLE I have taken. It is excellent." (Chapel Hill, NC)
"Excellent substantive program. Well presented." (Dunn Loring, VA)
"Very enjoyable." (North Wilkesboro, NC)
"Outstanding speaker!" (Durham, NC)
"An amazing presentation -- this could easily be a 3-hour presentation and discussion. Very relevant to all areas of practice and teaching." (Durham, NC)
"Wonderful speaker - wish I could have been there in person. " (Charlotte, NC)
"The instructor was excellent. Although much of it was more closely related to the biology/metabolic/scientific aspects, it was extremely interesting." (Charlotte, NC)
"I am an organic chemist, and practice patent law, and have particular expertise in the treatment of central nervous system disorders. It is perhaps for this reason I found this to be the best CLE course I have ever taken. The speaker was engaging, the talk was interesting (at least to me), and was very insightful. I was not aware of the potential certain people have for abuse, and the explanation of the causes of depression and drug abuse was fascinating." (Chapel Hill, NC)
"Best CLE ever, this guy was great, entertaining ansd informative, 10 thumbs up!" (Wilmington, NC)
"Thanks for making this available." (Greenville, NC)
"Great Presenter" (Cary, NC)
"I randomly selected this course merely to satisfy my substance abuse requirement. Wow.. was I amazed at how excellent it was! It was so interesting and fascinating. The information provided debunked many myths regarding addiction in general, and alcoholism in particular. The speaker was outstanding. He seemed to know how much to "dumb down" his talk, such that a non-medical person could understand it, without insulting our intelligence. I already recommended this class to my husband who also needs CLE hours. He`ll really enjoy it since he`s a trained chemist." (Durham, NC)
"very informative" (Mooresville, NC)
"I would like to have follow up to this excellent and enlightening scientific/medical presentation. Deeper education on this very important topic." (High Point, NC)
"Excellent speaker and good slides. Very informative" (Research Triangle Park, NC)
"Excellent Speaker!" (Chapel Hill, NC)
"This was the most substantive program on this topic that I have taken. Many lawyers deal with substance abuse in their practices, either disability, criminal, family law, etc., and having this scientific background is very helpful. I only wish he had been able to get through the entire presentation." (Durham, NC)
"Speaker was execellent. I learned a lot I did not know; it was as helpful as such a program could be to me, and he was quite entertaining. Good job all around!" (Spartanburg, SC)
"This was the best substance abuse seminar I`ve ever seen. Let`s do more like it." (Cary, NC)
"Fascinating" (Charlotte, NC)
" Very presented in an understandable program both orally and with the visual slides. All excellant. I wish we could take more CLE hours at home." (Greenville, SC)
"This was the best substance abuse CLE hour I have ever heard and seen, and one of the best CLEs. Most informative. PS> great, dry wit!" (Asheville, NC)
"Very informative, interesting and helpful. Speaker was great." (Jacksonville, NC)
"Interesting course. This guy is a very witty, funny person. His jokes kept the class upbeat. Would recommend this course. I had heard that alcoholism was genetic and this really helps to understand why." (Oro Valley, AZ)
"I like this format and would like the Bar to expand the ability to use online courses." (Durham, NC)
"Very informative, well explained, clear, captured interest. Much better than war stories." (Spartanburg, SC)
"Most emlightening. Excellent info." (Charlotte, NC)
"I really enjoyed the scientific information and the presentation based on that information as it relates to addiction. Very well done." (Raleigh, NC)
"Interesting speaker with light moments. Generally liked the challenged fallacies -- alcoholism isn't drinking too much alcohol, its not drinking enough. Loved how he correlated the lack of treatment for addictions to diabetes, for example. I hope we can book him for some of our programs in representing parents with these issues. Every judge should also have to listen to this presentation." (Durham, NC)
"good presenter-i liked his sense of humor" (Lincolnton, NC)
"Dr. Book was a amazing speaker, not only did I learn a lot, but I was laughing out loud for much of the program. Please have him do more talks!" (Concord, NC)
"Very informative. Excellent speaker." (Research Triangle Park, NC)
"The presenter was effective and interesting." (Wilmington, NC)
"Excellent course and instructor" (Washington, DC)
"This was a really good program. The information was substantive, the slides were actually useful, and the presenter was excellent in almost every way. Dr. Book should be put before attorneys on this issue as much as possible." (Durham, NC)
"Dr. Book is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining." (Charlotte, NC)
"Terrific presentation." (Hendersonville, NC)
"I am a recovering alcoholic. I found this program to be super informative, interesting, and with just the right balance of humor on a serious topic. It is one of the best seminars I have taken in my 30 plus years of practice. Programs of this nature should be made available on dvd for a reasonable price to those who have completed the seminar, to allow us to revisit and absorb on a greater level of understanding the information set forth. i.e. it goes too fast to absorb all and the materials were not in themselves sufficient to allow revisiting the issues." (HENDERSONVILLE, NC)
"A riveting CLE that was highly interesting and useful! Someone should tell him that's illegal." (Greenville, SC)
"VERY valuable information for numerous areas of client and personal application." (Morganton, NC)
"Excellent, interesting speaker. Provided genuine insight." (Greensboro, NC)
"Great speaker. Interesting topic." (Houston, TX)
"Questions from live audience were poorly audible to inaudible and speaker failed to rephrase the questions for the video audience." (Wilmington, NC)
"Good program." (Houston, TX)
"Good, entertaining and informative speaker for what could have been very boring." (Atlanta, GA)
"Very good presenter. Actually felt like I learned something new." (Asheboro, NC)
"Speaker was wonderful, subject matter held my attention. Great program!" (Duncan, NC)
"Would have been helpful to review multiple types of addiction in addition to alcohol and discuss more of environmental as well as neurobiological components of various prevalent addictions. Thank you for this program." (Raleigh, NC)
"Best substance abuse CLE I have taken." (East bend, NC)
