This seminar addresses key trends in the law governing the ethical and malpractice exposure of attorneys and makes some predictions based upon those trends. Increasing public scurtiny of lawyers is driving the law toward expansion of duty and liability. The same public pressures are posing challenges and even threats to the sanctity of the attorney-client relationship and privilege. Nonetheless, lawyers in the 21st Century can steer clear of ethical and malpractice exposures by adhering to the Rules of Professional Conduct and some equally important practical rules of common sense.
