What is bankruptcy? In this program Bankruptcy Judge Robert J. Faris provides an introduction to bankruptcy law in Hawaii. Based on the Federal Bankruptcy Code, Judge Faris will provide an overview of the various types of bankruptcies, including the popular Chapter 7 and Chapter 11. After introduction into the basics and concepts of bankruptcy law, Judge Faris explains some of the requirements and procedural aspects of the bankruptcy process. Furthermore, the program addresses the role of trustees and who assigns them along with how assets are distributed and the possibility of dischargeability under bankruptcy.
