DAVID N. HOROWITZ, a certified family law specialist and a shareholder with May, Potenza, Baran & Gillespie, was admitted to practice law in Arizona in 1990. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law in 1990, he has focused his practice in all areas of family law for over 20 years with extensive experience in divorce, legal separation, annulment, child custody, visitation, child support, spousal maintenance, pre-nuptial agreements, domestic partnerships, grandparents rights, guardianship, adoption and relocation. He is also highly experienced in alternative dispute resolution including mediation and collaborative divorce and he currently serves as a judge pro tem, IV-D commissioner and as a parenting coordinator for the Maricopa County Superior Court. He also serves on the Arizona Supreme Courtís Child Support Guidelines Review Committee and the Arizona State Senate Domestic Relations Committee and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona Family Law Advisory Commission, Arizona Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. He is a past president of both Collaborative Divorce Professionals of Arizona and the Arizona Family Support Council. He frequently speaks at legal education seminars for the State Bar of Arizona, including the State Barís course on Professionalism, and has presented for The International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts and The National Business Institute. Mr. Horowitz is the recipient of the 2005-2006 State Bar of Arizona CLE Award and the NALS of Phoenix Boss of the Year Award. He holds an undergraduate degree in business economics from the University of Arizona and has been teaching economics and legal studies at Phoenix College since 1990. He also teaches family law at the Phoenix School of Law.
