Carol E. Willoughby First American Title Insurance Co., Concord Carol E. Willoughby is the vice president and senior underwriter with First American Title Insurance in Concord, NH. She has worked in the conveyancing industry since 1983. Carol was a founding member of McNicholas & Willoughby, PA, and of counsel with Bernstein Shur Sawyer & Nelson, PA where she worked on numerous complex real estate projects and litigated a variety of title disputes. She also clerked for the Honorable Rudolph J. Kass of the Appeals Court for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Carol joined First American for the first time in September of 2004 in claims and underwriting, and for the second time in September of 2011 in her current position. She earned her B.A. from Rivier College in 1983 and her J.D. from Southern Illinois University’s Lesar School of Law in 1995. Carol is a member of the NHBA’s Real Property Law Section (former chair) and its Title Standards Committee, the Municipal and Governmental Law Section and the NH Title Association (past president). She is also admitted to practice in Massachusetts. Carol has participated extensively as a lecturer on title insurance and real estate topics for various continuing legal education programs, as well as several professional organizations, associations and at UNH School of Law. 5/12 TL |
