Lee Kim, Esq. Tucker Arensberg, PC, Pittsburgh Lee assists clients in all areas of intellectual property and information technology law. She regularly helps a wide-range of organizations with licensing agreements, software development agreements, software subscription agreements, website terms of use and privacy policies, domain name registrations, domain name disputes, software audit defense and compliance, and HIPAA Security Rule and HITECH Act policies, compliance, and training. She is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) as a patent attorney. Her patent experience includes drafting and prosecuting software business method patent applications before the USPTO. Lee regularly speaks on intellectual property and information technology law, including copyright, patent, and trademark issues, and HIPAA Security Rule and HITECH Act compliance (with a discussion of relevant information technology security issues), both locally and nationally. Lee is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (“WPHIMSS”) Board of Directors, program committee chair, and webmaster. She is also the Health Law and Policy Coordinating Committee Liaison and Web Liaison for the American Bar Association's eHealth Privacy and Security Special Interest Group. Prior to earning her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Lee worked in the information technology (IT) field for several years, including in academic, corporate, and healthcare settings. Her previous experience includes network, system (Windows/Unix), database (Oracle/SQL), website administration, and helpdesk support. Her undergraduate studies included computer science, chemistry, and neuroscience. Prior to her undergraduate studies, she ran a FidoNet bulletin board system (“BBS”). In addition, she has been on the Internet since 1990. |
