Mr. Douglass joined the Real Estate Department of Rothman Gordon in 2003 after 40 years with the firm Rose Schmidt Hasley & DiSalle P.C. Recently, most of his practice has been working with landowners leasing Marcellus shale. Historically, his practice includes real estate and mineral law. A founder of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation, he served as the Foundation President from 1979 through 1981 and is currently a Trustee. In1990, Mr. Douglass was the recipient of the "Distinguished Service Award" at the Coal Lawyers Conference of the National Coal Association. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers In America for real estate for over ten years and as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. He serves on the Board of the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden which is working on the development of a Botanic Garden for Western Pennsylvania. Mr. Douglass graduated with a B.A. from Mount Union College and received his L.L.B. from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Law. Admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1959, Mr. Douglass is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (Real Estate Section- Member of Council, Chairman 1983, Initiator and first editor of Section Newsletter and various other responsibilities; Lawyer-Realtor Committee, Former Co-Chairman; Municipal Law Section and Schools Committee; and Special Fee Determination Committee). In addition, he is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section) and the American Bar Association (Real Estate Probate and Trust Law Section). Mr. Douglass recently retired from the position of Solicitor for The School District of the Township of Upper St. Clair after serving for 28 years. He is active with Christ Methodist Church of Bethel Park and is a past president of the Wesley Institute.
