James C. Martin, Esq. Reed Smith LLP, Pittsburgh Mr. Martin is a partner in the nationwide Appellate Practice Group of Reed Smith LLP. He received his B.A. degree from Colorado College and his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Santa Clara, where he was editor-in-chief of the Santa Clara Law Review. His practice emphasizes civil appeals, writs, and post-trial motions. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a member and former president of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers, co-founder and current president of the Third Circuit Bar Association, and a member of the Pennsylvania and California bars. Mr. Martin has written widely on issues related to appellate practice and civil litigation in state and federal courts.
