Hon. Nowak PA Insurance Department, Harrisburg Ms. Nowak has been a hearing officer with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department since August 1997. In this position, she conducts hearings and prepares adjudications in cases concerning insurance laws and regulations. She also serves as the mediation coordinator for the Department. Prior to joining the Insurance Department, she was a partner in the law firm of Flanagan & Smith in Lancaster, where her practice involved insurance defense litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts. She is a 2005 graduate of the Leadership Development Institute for Women in State Government.
