Hon. Peter J. Eckerstrom Arizona Court of Appeals, Division Two, Tucson THE HON. PETER J. ECKERSTROM graduated from Yale University in 1982 magna cum laude with a degree in American Studies. He received a JD from Stanford University in 1986 (with Distinction). After admission to the Arizona Bar in 1988, he litigated criminal trial cases as a public defender in Tucson from 1988 to 1994. For the next nine years, he conducted a private practice in the area of criminal defense with an emphasis on capital trial and appellate litigation. He was appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals in May of 2003 by Governor Janet Napolitano and began work with that court in July of 2003.
