Phillip "Rod" Krass Malkerson, Gunn, Martin, L.L.P., Minneapolis, MN Since 1969, Phillip R. Krass has represented developers in obtaining zoning and subdivision approvals for residential, commercial and industrial projects, and arranging public and private financing related to those projects.Mr. Krass has been the attorney to numerous cities, counties, school districts, and HRAs public utilities in land use law and litigation matters.In addition to his land use law expertise, Mr. Krass has handled hundreds of eminent domain cases on behalf of condemnors and condemnees, as well as real estate tax appeal cases on behalf of property owners. Mr. Krass is also an expert in the area of mechanic’s lien actions and has won cases, including at the Minnesota Supreme Court level, regarding the interpretation and meaning of the mechanic’s lien statute. He has also handled many successful special assessment appeals.Mr. Krass has represented clients in hundreds of real estate related and commercial litigation matters. These would include real estate ownership claims, disputes between partners or shareholders in small corporations, boundary line issues, title registration matters, banking cases and commercial contract litigation. He has represented both employers and employees in employment litigation matters such as discrimination claims based on sexual harassment, age, race, religion or national origin. He has also handled termination agreements as well as wrongful termination issues and "last chance" agreements."Mr. Krass has been selected as a mediator in many disputes involving condemnation and commercial litigation matters, and has lectured and written extensively in these two areas.
