Hon. Kathleen A. McGuire (Ret.) is the University of New Hampshire's Morton Goulder Professor of Legal Writing. She was named to the position in 2010 but has been an adjunct faculty member for several years. Judge McGuire earned her B.A. from the University of New Hampshire in 1970, her M.A. from the University of Florida in 1975 and her J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1983. Judge McGuire was an Associate Justice at the New Hampshire Superior Court for 21 years and has 25 years of extensive experience to draw upon as a former Assistant Attorney General and Chief of the Criminal Bureau within the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office. She has also been a faculty advisor at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada. Judge McGuire is a member of the Merrimack County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Women Judges, American Inns of Court, and the Supreme Court Historical Society. She is a Fellow of both the NH Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation. Judge McGuire is the chair of the New Hampshire Russian-American Rule of Law Consortium Committee, chair of the New Hampshire Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee and a Trustee of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Society. Among her many honors and awards are the New Hampshire Bar Association's Daniel Webster International Lawyer of the Year 2010 and the Justice William A. Grimes Award for Judicial Professionalism. 3/11 TL
