Stephen J. Judge

Stephen J. Judge is a member of Wadleigh, Starr and Peters, PLLC in Manchester, NH where he focuses his practice in government relations and litigation. He earned his B.A. from the University of Maryland in 1976 and his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1982. Steve clerked for the Superior Court from 1982-1984, serving as chief law clerk for his final year. He served in the State of NH’s Attorney General’s Office for nineteen years, where he was director of civil litigation, chief of the Civil Bureau, associate attorney general in charge of the Division of Legal Counsel, deputy attorney general and acting attorney general. Steve was appointed by Governor Craig Benson and the Executive Council in 2003 to a commission tasked by the New Hampshire Legislature with recommending changes to the state's right-to-know law in light of advances in computer technology. The duties of the Right-to-Know Study Commission, by the terms of its enabling legislation, ended in October 2004 when it filed its final report. The Commission was renewed in 2005 by an act of the New Hampshire Legislature (House Bill 41) as a five-year oversight commission. Steve was appointed to the new commission by Governor John Lynch and the Executive Council, effective July 13, 2005. He has taught numerous trial practice CLEs in New Hampshire and has taught at a national level for the National Association of Attorneys General.
