Margaret M. Kennedy received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (1993) and her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law (1997). She worked as a public defender in Kitsap County before joining the Washington State Attorney General’s Office in 2000. She has represented the Department of Corrections in civil rights litigation and personal restraint petitions, and she briefly worked as in-house counsel for DSHS. She has spent the majority of the past 9 years, however, representing Adult Protective Services in 12 counties in Western Washington.[June 2009]
