Mr. Heims is currently Director of Outreach for the Portland VA Medical Center (PVAMC), which serves 65,000 veterans from western Oregon and Washington. He also serves on Governor Kulongowski’s Task Force on Veterans Services. Mr. Heims directed the Division of Mental Health and Neurosciences at PVAMC for 12 years, and prior to that he directed a research team under contract to the Department of Defense (DOD) that created the DOD’s standards of care for mental health. He has also been a health care administrator at Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center and a national consultant for psychiatric care for CompCare. Mr. Heims is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. (08/09)
