Sidney S. Royer co-manages the Seattle law firm of Leemon + Royer, PLLC. Her practice emphasizes catastrophic personal injuries, medical and nursing home malpractice, representing victims of violent and sexual crimes for civil damages. Prior to practicing law, she was a psychiatric social worker in Chicago.Ms. Royer received her J.D. from the University of Puget Sound, School of Law. She received a B.S. with distinction and high honors and an M.S.W. from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.She has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association (“WSBA”) since 1984. For several years she has been a hearing officer for the WSBA Disciplinary Board. Ms. Royer has been an active member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers (“WSTLA”) Association since 1987 and has served on and chaired multiple WSTLA committees throughout her membership. She is a current member of the WSTLA Board of Governors, representing the Eighth Congressional District. She is a member of the Seattle-King County Bar Association and has served on the Judicial Screening Committee intermittently since 2000. Prior to that she served on the Judicial Evaluation Committee. Since 1987, Ms. Royer has been a member of the American Association of Justice (“AAJ”), formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. She participates in the following AAJ litigation groups: Birth Trauma; Nursing Home; Medical Malpractice; and, Inadequate Security. She has been a member of the National Crime Victims Bar Association since 2002.Since 1987, she has presented at and chaired several continuing legal education seminars, most recently in the areas of medical and nursing home malpractice, and representing victims of violent and sexual misconduct in civil litigation.
