Donald E. Mitchell served in the U.S. Army and later obtained his bachelor’s degree at Boston University from Rhode Island College in 1971. He then earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1980. For over twenty-five years, Don has been a labor and employment attorney and was a trial lawyer until his present position as Executive Director for the New Hampshire Public Employee Labor Relations Board, acting as its chief counsel and administrative officer. He has served as a Rule 170 mediator for the Superior Court since 1993 and recently for the Human Rights Commission. Don has been an adjunct instructor for the University of New Hampshire (Durham) and college faculty member of McIntosh College. He is a recipient of the annual “President’s Award” from the New Hampshire Bar Association for distinguished service to his profession. Don is a frequent speaker and commentator on labor relations, conflict resolution, public policy, and ethics. He is a member of the NHBA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution and Labor & Employment Law Sections. 4/09 TL
