Christopher D. Harlow, Internal Revenue Agent, Internal Revenue Service, Portland. Mr. Harlow has been with the Internal Revenue Service since 2002 and is a part of the examination division within the Small Business and Self-Employed division (SB/SE). This division serves businesses with assets less than $10 million and is the target group of taxpayers that make up the “tax gap” within the United States. His experience within the Service includes auditing various entities within SB/SE including TEFRA and non-TEFRA partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, individuals, and various abusive tax avoidance transactions. Additionally, Mr. Harlow has completed other extracurricular duties during his time with the Service, such as being a cooperating agent with the Criminal Investigation division and the Portland Office of Chief Counsel, acting as an on-the-job instructor for several new-hire revenue agents, and classified returns for audit at the Ogden, Utah Internal Revenue Service Center. Mr. Harlow has also passed the CPA exam and is currently going through the experience portion of the certification process. (05/07)
