Robert Cessar, a First Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Pennsylvania, advises the U.S. Attorney on policy, procedures and prosecutive decisions while managing an office of over 100 employees. From 1990 through 2001 Mr. Cessar investigated and prosecuted complex fraud cases in the White Collar Crimes Section of the United States Attorneys Office. While employed as a staff attorney with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, DC (1988-1990), Mr. Cessar litigated civil cases including cases involving civil violations of federal banking law; discrimination claims as well as general corporate litigation. A graduate of Notre Dame Law School, Mr. Cessar is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Fourth Circuit, Fifth Circuit, Ninth Circuit and the District of Columbia.
