Honorable Adrienne C. Nelson Multnomah County Circuit Court, Portland The Honorable Adrienne C. Nelson, Multnomah County Circuit Court, Portland. Judge Nelson was appointed by Governor Ted Kulongoski to the Multnomah County Circuit Court bench in 2006, making her the second African-American female judge in the state of Oregon. Judge Nelson has been elected six times to a statewide seat in the American Bar Association House of Delegates. She serves on the steering committee for the 2011 Convocation for Equality and the Owen M. Panner American Inn of Court executive committee. Judge Nelson was president of the Oregon Law Foundation and has served on the Oregon State Bar Affirmative Action Committee. She is a former president of the Multnomah Bar Foundation and also served on the Multnomah Bar Association Court Liaison Committee. Judge Nelson is a frequent presenter on the issue of diversity. She was an adjunct professor for the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College, where she taught a seminar on critical race theory. (09/11) |
