Mr. Leace has over fifteen years experience in intellectual property law and began working at RatnerPrestia as a law student in the early years of the firm. He has represented clients in a wide range of intellectual property areas including litigation, licensing, agreements, opinions/counseling and patent/trademark/copyright procurement. Mr. Leace holds a Juris Doctor from the Temple University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (with a minor in International Relations) from Lehigh University. He has been active in a number of professional and civic organizations over the years, including the Licensing Executive Society where he is a past chair of the Philadelphia Chapter; the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association where he was past chair of the litigation section and the International Trademark Association having served on the Classification and Emerging Issues subcommittees. Mr. Leace has worked as a committee member with the Small Miracles Foundation of the Albert Einstein Hospital and is a member of the Leadership Counsel of the Philadelphia Volunteers Lawyers for the Arts Program. He has lectured, taught programs in Opposition/Cancellation practice for the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals and Trademarks 101 for the International Trademark Association. Mr. Leace has been a panelist in programs, including Intellectual Property Infringement for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Accountants and Emerging Issues in Intellectual Property Law for the Temple Intellectual Property Law Network. He chairs the firm’s litigation and trademark practice groups and is a member of the electrical, computer, ecommerce and optics practice group. Mr. Leace was recently honored in the June 2004 issue of Philadelphia Magazine as a “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer” in the area of Intellectual Property Litigation and recently appeared on Law Journal, a weekly television show hosted by Attorney Christopher Naughton, that provides in depth discussion on a variety of legal issues.
