Hon. Carolyn Engel Temin

Judge Temin was first elected to the Court of Common Pleas of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania for a ten-year term beginning in January 1984. She was thereafter retained for two additional ten-year terms. Judge Temin now serves as a Senior Judge on the court. Most recently, Judge Temin was appointed by the High Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an International Judge on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. The court tries cases involving organized crime and public corruption and war crimes cases, including those which are to be transferred from The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Judge Temin lived in Sarajevo from September 2004 until November 2005. Judge Temin has demonstrated her commitment to continuing education by attending every course offered at the Annual Conference of the State Conference of Trial Judges since 1984, and by serving as a speaker for many organizations. She is a member of many professional organizations, including The Philadelphia Bar Association, The American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges and The National Association of Women Judges.
