Jonathan Eisenberg is the Co-Head of Global Litigation, Regulatory & Employment Law at Merrill Lynch. He is the author of more than two dozen articles on securities law issues, including Beyond the Basics: Fifty Defense Doctrines Every Securities Litigator Needs to Know, Civil Liabilities Under the Securities Act, and Avoiding Insider Trading Liability. Mr. Eisenberg previously served as the Co-Chair and the Civil Litigation and SEC Enforcement Subcommittee of the American Bar Association and chair of the Corporate/Securities Law section of the D.C. Bar. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1997, Mr. Eisenberg was a partner at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart in Washington D.C., and before that worked in the SEC’s Office General Counsel. Mr. Eisenberg graduated from Cornell University in 1974 and the University of Virginia School of Law in 1977.
